Chandigarh has residents who simply love gardens. It was late Mr Randhwa who showed a keen interest in trees and plants.
So this city now has famous gardens is almost all areas. We can feel the fragrance of these flowers and greenery really soothens our nerves.
Rose Garden: The cynosure of all eyes is the Rose Garden. It is situated in Sector-16. The Rose Garden is named after India’s former President Dr.Zakir Hussain.It has maximum qualities of roses. Visitors come from all over the world.
Shanti Kunj: In this modern world every one looks for peace. So in sector-16 a wonderful Shanti Kunj is situated next to the Cricket Stadium. It has a small stream, a pool and a number of quite places for mediation.
Samriti Upvan: This is in Sector-1.It is concerate with the memories of those who have left for their heavenly abode.
The Leisure Valley: It is situated in sector-10.It has very calm atmosphere. All famous Chandigarh festival is held in this Valley.
The Terrace Garden: It is situated in sector-33.It has cluster of some of the finest varieties of flowers.
Bougainvillea Garden: Bougainvillea Garden is very famous all over the world specially for hedge purposes. This garden is in Sector-10 and has beautiful plants of Bougainvillea of all colors an annual Bougainvillea show is held here.
Botanical Garden: It has its most remarkable value as it has some rare plants. It is situated between Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden. Even Botanist likes to visit this garden.
Cactus Garden: It is about 10kms away from Chandigarh in the neighboring Panchkula.It has some of the rare qualities of Cactii.Tourist like to visit this garden.
Children's Traffic Park: It is also one of the wonderful place in Sector-23 where children learn the basis of the traffic rules. In morning persons also come for their walks.So, we can say it is both learn and relax park.
Rajendra Park: It is named after the first President of India Dr.Rajendra Prashad.It has also many open spaces where sporting events are held.
