Panjab university

Panjab university is one of the leading University in India.Panjab University was established in 1882 at Lahore. After the partition t was sifted to Solan and teaching, departments were located in Hoshiapur, Jalandhar, Delhi and Amristsar.In 1956, it was shifted to Chandigarh. Now the University occupies a pride of place both at national and International arena. It has got 51 teaching and research departments. It has more than 173 affiliated colleges. It has one of the best Libraries, besides four Museums, a Botanical Garden and a garden of Medicinal Plants. Now it also has got Engineering College and centre for advance studies in Computers.Recently, a Dental College has been started here. The alumni of the University are occupying high places in Central Ministry, State Ministry, High Court, Supreme Court, and Engineering and Medical field and in Science and Technology. There are many hotels in the University, a wonderful student cafeteria and remarkable Gandhi Bhawan.There is many departments in Arts, Commerces and Science facilities. There are three main auditoria apart from each department having its own small hall. Sports facilities are also excellent here.
